sooooooo, chief keef was sentenced to 60 days last week for violating probation on a gun charge and he's in some heat again!
an unidentified girl, still in middle school (!), has filed a petition for child support in Chicago and claims to have been impregnated by mr. keef in 2011... oh boy... worth noting is that under Illinois law, it's illegal for 2 people under the age of 17 to have sex. if the girl's parents decide to press charges my favorite little teenage rapper (besides justn bieber) could go to jail for up to one year anddddd be required to register as a sex offendor for 10 years!
poor guy... oh well!

classy sunday...
whysowhite (lmfao) is a 7-piece funk band out of chicago that i came across thru someone else's tweets and i'm sure glad i did!
members are as follows:
- nick mcmillan aka "big nick": lead vocals
- charlie moonbeam aka "charlie moonbeam": vocals and keys
- davis haines aka "d-pop fantastic": vocals, congas, and apparently sex appeal?
- charlie dwyer aka "uncle funk": rhythm guitar
- chris miller aka "danger miller": lead guitar
- dave sumberg aka "custom sumberg": bass
- andrew abramowitz aka "brahmz": drums
the first song i heard was "the approach" and if you click that and listen you'll want to hear more. it kinda makes me wanna pour myself a glass of vino and nibble on some cubes of smelly cheese and seasoned crackers, right? snap my fingers too...
anyways, just click here for a few videos.
now it's sunday, i'm going back to watching reruns of some shitty show.
Monday, August 6
still all about frank ocean...
disregard the fact that my last post was on 3/25.
point is, i wanna start this thing up again so i've changed some things around, added a currently-on-rotation section, and would like my "return-post" to be about the artist referenced...
@RobMarkman tweeted the link to an unofficial video for frank ocean's "lost" via @bamupdates and in between segments of my guilty pleasure "love and hip hop: atlanta" i decided to watch. pretty jiggy, make sure you click that link. but my favorite part was actually what is written below the video. the first few sentences couldn't express how i feel about channel orange any clearer.
"...what i found most beautiful about this project was the absence of limitation in the creative process. at its foundation, this project is for me an un-tainted form of art..."

soundcloud surfin...
i like to click around soundcloud on sundays, while watching a crappy movie of course, just to hear other people's creativity - i mean who doesn't?
well today, this is what i found...
smooth
*feelin' like snappin' my fingers*
cute
*sucker for acoustic guitar*
HASTA LUEGO PUTOSSSSSSSSSSSS

the woman you love...
i've been obsessed with this song for some time now...
should've posted FOREVERRRR ago, but thanks to the BSOD my netbook got and monitored internet usage at work (!!!) posting was like, so totally impossible.
ANYWAYS!
so yeah i love the song (shame i don't hear it on the radio that much) #GirlyTweet, but the video? not as much of a fan. watch and listen anyways thoooo.
oh! that quote in the beginning from "braveheart" (also the name of ashanti's 5th studio album) is jiggy:
oh! that quote in the beginning from "braveheart" (also the name of ashanti's 5th studio album) is jiggy:
"as a tortured soul floats into the future, the only way to heal is to accept and let go of the past"
NOW AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH!
ok nowwwwww watch and listen =)

dmx = comedy...
this happened weeks ago but IIIIIDDDDCCCC *cheesy smile*
the interview as a whole was GREAT and SO real, but also hi-la-ri-ous!
especially what he said about drake? now don't get me wrong, i'm a drake fan and i bump the *bleep* out of undergound kings (and shit) but funny is funny, there's no way around that.
in case y'all forgot, herrrrrrrre we go *slick rick voice*:
PART 1:
PART 2:
i'm ready to go...
this song is old as hunger... but seeing as how idgaf and i wanna talk about it anyway, here goes =)
first off you MUST know childish gambino is donald glover, right? community's troy, past writer for the daily show, past writer for 30 rock, blah blah blah. how'd he get his name, you ask? a wu tang name generator... ha!
*googles name generator... and voila! i will now rap as bittah desperado*
back to the music:
"heartbeat" is the second single off glover's childish gambino's album "camp", realeased november of 2011. sadly, i only heard this song a few months ago, but i fell in love instantly.
i love the beat, the lyrics, and all that jazz.
but the video is what we're here for i guess....
