classy sunday...

whysowhite (lmfao) is a 7-piece funk band out of chicago that i came across thru someone else's tweets and i'm sure glad i did!
members are as follows:
  • nick mcmillan aka "big nick": lead vocals
  • charlie moonbeam aka "charlie moonbeam": vocals and keys
  • davis haines aka "d-pop fantastic": vocals, congas, and apparently sex appeal?
  • charlie dwyer aka "uncle funk": rhythm guitar
  • chris miller aka "danger miller": lead guitar
  • dave sumberg aka "custom sumberg": bass
  • andrew abramowitz aka "brahmz": drums
the first song i heard was "the approach" and if you click that and listen you'll want to hear more. it kinda makes me wanna pour myself a glass of vino and nibble on some cubes of smelly cheese and seasoned crackers, right? snap my fingers too...
anyways, just click here for a few videos.

now it's sunday, i'm going back to watching reruns of some shitty show.

still all about frank ocean...

disregard the fact that my last post was on 3/25.
point is, i wanna start this thing up again so i've changed some things around, added a currently-on-rotation section, and would like my "return-post" to be about the artist referenced...

@RobMarkman tweeted the link to an unofficial video for frank ocean's "lost" via @bamupdates and in between segments of my guilty pleasure "love and hip hop: atlanta" i decided to watch. pretty jiggy, make sure you click that link. but my favorite part was actually what is written below the video. the first few sentences couldn't express how i feel about channel orange any clearer.

"...what i found most beautiful about this project was the absence of limitation in the creative process. at its foundation, this project is for me an un-tainted form of art..."
